Please choose three (3) of the following questions and answer them in a minimum of one hundred words each. Each question is worth ten (10) points and you may earn up to a maximum of thirty (30) points in total. You are free to send in as many answers as you wish, but will receive no further points for any questions answered after the initial three.

1: Minus one thing from our world and explain the effects this has on everything else. Now add one thing to our world and explain the effects.

2: Think of a favourite fantasy story and pinpoint the most major change between its world and reality. It could be very obvious or quite subtle. Describe the effects that come from it and whether there are other changes that don’t stem from the original change.

3: What do you think is the most important aspect of worldbuilding? The least important? Why?

4: Invent a premise for your world using one of the three methods mentioned in the lesson. Tell me what it is and how you came up with it.

5: Choose an author whom you believe has created the most immersive world. Explain what drew you in so much - was it the descriptions? The level of detail? Or something else entirely?

Extra Credit

Choose one (1) of the following for a maximum of thirty points.

Write: Come up with a basic premise for a future story. Decide on the genre, invent a few characters, and outline the very basic plot. Remember that any of these details can be changed at a later time, but they need to get on the paper first before they can be perfected.

Illustrate: Choose one of the worlds that you added or took something away from in the above task. Draw a picture that exemplifies that change.

Convince: Invent something that could change the world as we know it. I’m your multi-billionaire investor with all the money you need to get your invention working and into the world, but you have to convince me to back you first. This can be done through an advertisement, a written letter, a picture of a prototype, or anything else that you think will sell it to me.
